GPS has been around for a while, now, and so have high speed car chases. But the two are likely to become close friends in the near future. Introducing StarChase, a GPS device that can be remotely attached to a suspect vehicle and then tracked by law enforcement officers. With the ability to tag a vehicle from the side of the road, or even from inside a patrol cruiser, deadly chases may become a lot less deadly, and even more effective.

A company called Polymer Vision, which spun out from Philips in 2006, has come up with an ingenious solution. It’s called the Readius (pictured) and it’s an E Ink display that’s similar to the Sony Reader, except for one important factor — it’s rollable.

You can roll the 127mm (diagonally) E Ink display into a compact form factor that measures 56mm wide, 100mm tall and 21mm deep, so it will fit into a jacket pocket. The Readius can display 16 shades of grey and it has 4GB of on-board memory, so you can store all your books, emails and PDFs on it. It also features USB, as well as GPRS/EDGE and DVB-H connectivity, meaning you can download data wirelessly, too.

Corporate video producer laurie McGuinness has decided to produce a quartet of commercials spoofing those simple but effective get a mac ads currently running on TV. McGuinness told local Vancouver news 24 hours “When I worked for an ad firm, I always noticed it was the creative guys on the Macs, but the guys with the real money and power used PC’s, I just wanted to point that out”.
