
Not only are cell phones getting smaller, but now they can be used to examine smaller things, as well. CellScope, originally developed by a research team at University of California, Berkeley allows the use of cell phones to examine items from hair follicles to blood cells.
While this may sound a little too nerdy for most folks, the research is aimed at providing improved medical and research tools to less developed countries. Essentially, and attachment is added to the phone and micro-imaging begins, and the results are of a quality that can be used in clinical studies or situations.
